We are a handful of coffee shops in Montreal working with 49th Parallel Roasters since 2008. Since Feb. 2020 a majority of our baked goods are now made in house in our new Mont-Royal location while we also continue to receive our freshly baked croissants from Hof Kelsten. There isn’t a right or wrong approach to trying to make coffee better, and we learn new things about brewing all the time. More than anything, we have fun and don’t take ourselves too seriously. We make pretty good coffee and sometimes we play really bad music but it’s also usually pretty good.
Henrietta’s creamy milk is the milk of choice for latte art competitions. Produced by cows fed high-quality fodder and grains from Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean. The milk has zero additives whatsoever, preserving the integrity of its natural flavour.
We also have a wide array of alternative milks such as soy, almond and of course oat. These alternative milks have baristas in mind to achieve the perfect micro-foam, thickness and desired sweetness. We work with Pacific Foods, Oatly, Minor Figures and Earth’s Own in order to have as many vegan and glutton free options as possible.
The majority of coffee we serve is sourced and roasted by 49th Parallel Roasters in Vancouver, BC. For years, they have established relationships with producers in many coffee-growing nations to improve the quality of coffee and pay a substantial premium above Fair-Trade prices for product. We build our menu based on the seasonality of these producing countries, offering a rotating selection of origins that change regularly. We receive roasted coffee on Thursday afternoons two to three days off-roast, please check the “MENU” tab to see our current selection.
We also frequently feature coffee from a selection of guest roasters across North America and Europe. These roasters share the same values as Myriade and it’s with pleasure that we continue to introduce Montreal to new quality focused roasters. On another note, we have also progressed alongside the growing array of local roasters thanks in part to the creation of Montreal’s very first roasting co-op Canadian Roasting Society by trailblazers Andy Kyres (Tunnel Espresso Bar) and Scott Rao (Cafe Myriade). This has brought forth a myriad of talented roasters in Montreal allowing us to have more local options and raising the bar for the industry.
