This Guatemala Peña Blanca is made up of cherries picked from Finca El Rincon, predominantly Caturra and Bourbon varieties . A syrupy bodied, fruit forward coffee with notes of macadamia and dried fruit, it’s a fantastic espresso.
2019 was a fantastic year for Renardo Ovalle and the Vides family in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. From their farms La Bolsa, Las Terrazas and Finca El Rincón, we’ve had the pleasure of drinking some clean, intensely fruity coffees that have certainly exceeded our already high expectations for this producer. For over 80 years, the Vides family have shown to be a driving force in quality, sustainability and transparency. Not only focused on growing incredible coffee, they are heavily involved in environmental conservation, development of schools in the local area and improving the living conditions of their workers.
Brewing ratio: 1g coffee to 16-17g water / Slurry temperature (coffee+water): 200 - 205 ̊F / 93 - 96 ̊C / Extraction: 20 - 21% / TDS 1.38-1.41%
